The minimum age to hire a car is 20 years old. For MPV and sports cars the minimum age is 23 years old. All drivers must have held a full driving license for a minimum of 12 months.
The maximum age for all cars is 80 years old.
All drivers are required to provide an original full driving licence.
Renters and additional drivers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
UK residents must provide a UK drivers licence - an international licence is not acceptable. It is a legal requirement for any non-UK citizen to obtain a UK licence if they are driving in the UK for a period exceeding three months.
An international driving licence is required if the renter or additional driver's licence is of non-roman alphabet (e.g. Japanese).
All Jersey residents hiring vehicles must provide the correct driving licence from the correct authority. Licences produced which are deemed to be outside the local laws will be refused.
We are unable to offer a delivery service and cars must be collected from our car rental desk at Jersey Airport.
Cancellation Protection is available for just £2 per day of the hire period. If you purchase Cancellation Protection at time of booking and you are unable to honour your booking prior to the collection date, Avis Jersey will refund all charges except the cancellation protection portion.
Without Cancellation Protection, the following refunds will apply:
28 days before start date of hire - 50% refund
7-28 days before start date of hire - 25% refund
0-7 days before start date of hire - No refund
No refunds will be given for rentals ended early, late collections, no shows or cancellations made after the rental start date even if Cancellation Protection has been purchased.
We accept all major credit cards and will be required for security when renting our vehicle. Avis Jersey does not charge credit card fees.
Additional drivers may be added to drive and be present at time of rental, subject to presenting a full drivers licence that has been held for at least 12 months. There will be charge of £3.00 per day to cover each additional driver.
When you book an Avis rental car in Jersey the price you are quoted includes, by law, the basic insurance needed should you be involved in an accident. This includes legal liability, third party and public liability insurance.
In addition, the rental rates shown also INCLUDE theft protection.
Rates quoted on Avisjersey.co.uk include full cover insurances with a ZERO excess. All Avis Jersey rental cars are insured under Polar Cars Ltd.’s policy in accordance with Jersey Law.
The hirer is responsible for the rental vehicle for the dates stated on the rental agreement. The insurance included carries a ZERO excess for hirers in the event of damage or an accident. Avis Jersey (Polar Cars Ltd) has the right to demand damages if it is proved the car has been damaged whilst being used in a wreck less manner or illegally. . The amount of up to £1000 plus GST can be demanded.
Avisjersey.co.uk quoted rates includes all registration, license fees and vehicle duties.
Jersey GST (Goods and Service Tax) will be added to your reservation at completion.
We hold a range of baby and booster seats which can be reserved when you make your reservation or available at check out (subject to availability).
Fuel charges are not included in our inclusive rates. All vehicles are supplied with 13 litres of fuel = quarter tank of fuel. This can be pre-paid or returned with the same level. Unfortunatly we are unable to offer a Full to Full policy due to island fuel limitations.
The renter is responsible for ALL parking and traffic offences. You must pay the appropriate island parish authorities as per the issued ticket. If the renter does not settle monies due to the authorities Polar Cars Ltd will pass these costs onto the renter and will be liable for the fine plus a reasonable administration charge when Avis has to deal with these offences.
Hire cars are not permitted to leave the island.
